Camp Olympia Riding Center was established in Rockville, Maryland over 65 years ago with just a few horses and outside standing stalls. Today, we have 16 plus horses, several barns, lighted outdoor riding rings, a stadium jumping field, dressage arena, indoor arena and cross country trails and jumps. We are proud of our growth over the years and have maintained high quality instruction. We love the sport of riding and enjoy sharing our knowledge with our riding students. It is a great reward to see the progress made and the smile on the face of a rider who has elevated their skills to the next level. Our qualified instructors are all former competitors and have teaching experience with riders of all ages and abilities. Our instructors also have experience in training horses. We love our horses and make sure that they enjoy their lessons too.
We offer lessons year round at our facility on Muncaster Mill Road, Rockville, Maryland with a very flexible schedule. We have special programs which include Horse shows, Spring and Winter Break Camp, one day camps for school holidays, birthday parties, Girl Scout Badges and CHA Riding Instructor Certification Clinic.
Horseback riding lessons are year-round and offered for adults and children (ages 5+). Group riding is available for Winter, Spring and Fall sessions for 10 weeks. The summer group session is 10 weeks and offered on weekday evenings. Riding lessons are available weekends and weekdays. Call for current schedule and we will try to accommodate you. Riders ages 5 - 7 must have an adult accompany them each week to assist with leading the horse.
Private and semi-private lessons are also available at a time convenient for the student and instructor. Private and semi-private lessons are offered in a series of five.
One make up lesson is allowed per session (except ages 5 - 7 and beginners) and must be scheduled within the 10 week session. Should the Camp have to cancel a lesson for any reason, the session will be extended for one additional week.
